Charley has a sad sad story. Here is a dog that is loved, treasured, spoiled and wonderful. Charley’s dad was living in a rental house that was sold out from under him. Unable to find a new home for himself and Charley, he put Charley up for adoption to give him a chance at a better life.

Charley is sad without his family. He lived with a family of three: father, mother and son. He loves people and adores being petted. Charley needs a new family. He deserves a home. He is already housebroken. He doesn’t like being alone and he is scared at the boarding kennel. He wants a yard to play in and a couch to sleep on. Do you think your family has room for Charley?

Berlioz

Berlioz was born March 2, 2012. He is a sweet, cuddly and energetic puppy. His mom was a purebred Boxer and his dad is a purebred Great Dane. This little guy is a result of what backyard breeders call and “accidental litter”. They didn’t mean to breed the dogs but didn’t spay or neuter them and didn’t keep them seperate when the Boxer came into heat. So now there are puppies. The “breeders” didn’t want to deal with mixed breed dogs that they couldn’t sell for $500 - $900 each. So here they are.

As cute as Berlioz and his siblings are, puppies take a LOT of work! We don’t want to discourage you, we just want to make sure you understand the commitment you’re making when you bring a puppy into your life. So before you fill out the adoption application, think about this:

Berlioz’s mom was about 50 pounds, his dad about 130 pounds. These puppies will likely be between 80 and 100+ pounds full grown.

Puppies are a blank slate. They will do whatever you program them to do. If you DON’T train them to do anything, you may well have a 100+ pound dog that is out of control. If you’re not good with being consistent, if you’re not patient, if you are too busy, don’t have time, work long hours, don’t like walks, aren’t willing to socialize her, if you move frequently, aren’t responsible, or don’t have money for vet bills, maybe you should reconsider this whole “puppy” thing.

If you rent, you are able to adopt from us with a letter of permission from your landlord allowing you to have a “giant breed” dog in your rental. Keep in mind how difficult it may be to find another rental that allows a 100+ pound dog and make sure you plan accordingly. Moving is NOT an acceptable reason to give up your dog.

Berlioz has a good 10 to 12 years ahead of him. He doesn’t want to have more than one owner. Dogs are for life – all 12+ years of it. If you move, start a family, change jobs, get divorced, change work hours – none of it matters to Toulouse. Once you’re his family, the only thing that will matter to him is you. He won’t want a home with more room or a family that is home more – He will want to be with you.

Nancy is a female boxer who came in with her boyfriend Sid. Obviously overbred and undersocialized, Nancy had recently had a litter – so recently that she is still swollen with milk.

Nancy is on the path to a new life. She is excited to find a famly that won’t leave her in the yard as a puppy-making meal ticket, but will bring her into the home and treat her like she deserves – a real family member. Help Nancy find her new life and new family.

Bass (Base)

Bass (pronounced “base”) is a 3 year old handsome man. Bass was found as a stray and is a little depressed at the loss of whatever his previous life was. Mellow and sweet, this golden brindle boy needs a home and a family to lose those sad eyes and bring back his boxer wiggle and smile.

Treble

Treble is a sweet, hearing, white boxer. She is good with kids and other dogs and just a love. She was unspayed and, like many unspayed female dogs, experienced a prolapsed uturus that caused her family to turn her into an animal shelter rather than take the time to care for her medical condition.

Because she is now spayed, Treble will never again experience the medical condition that caused her to be turned into the shelter in the first place. Evinrude

Evinrude is a sweet, 8 week old puppy. He is 1/2 labrador retriever and 1/2 german shepherd. Evinrude is a result of owners that didn’t spay and neuter. He and his 6 brothers and sisters were turned into the rescue after the owners realized that weren’t goiung to “make money” off having puppies like they originally thought.
