Hello from Ryder and new new family!   First I must say I just love this guy! He is the best dog ever and he has settled in quite well. I was finally able to take some photos and wanted to send them for your happy endings page.   Last weekend Ryder stepped on something and hurt is back foot, so he wasn't up for pictures and the weather has been yucky too! So he's met his new vetrinarian and they got along well. I brought him up to date on his rabies and also started him on a regular routine of heartworm prevenative. He looks great and I hope you enjoy the pictures. I'll write again soon. Thanks, Carol Marca and Family

Believe it or not, there are still Hurricane Katrina animals that are desperately seeking new and forever homes after the tragedy. Ryder is just one of those pets.

Ryder was rescued off the streets of New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. He was found emaciated and near death. He was so scared of everything that it was difficult for rescuers to save him, but save him they did. Best Freinds Animal Sacuary pulled Ryder from the streets and nursed him back to health.

Ryder is friendly to people, but sometimes afraid of new people. We don’t know what happened to Ryder in his past, but he needs someone who will give him a great home! He is an easy-going fellow.
He gets along with some dogs, especially females. He is cratetrained. He loves going on walks! He loves to chew on bones and toys!

He knows sit and down, and is very easy to train! Can you be the one Ryder needs to teach him lots of neat tricks and give him a home?!
