Adoption Requirements: • You must be 21 years of age • All current pets in the household MUST be spayed/neutered and current on shots (yes, we do call and verify this information) • We do not place female boxers with other female dogs • Attendance at a professionally run obedience course is a requirement of adoption! • We do not adopt out dogs as gifts • All pets are family companions! |
Sometimes I'm not sure why people have dogs. Kauai was left in the backyard to be a baby-making machine. I'm sure she made gorgeous puppies. I'm sure she made his owners a lot of money, selling her puppies at $500 a piece. In exchange for pretty puppies and lots of money, Kauai was given nothing - no love, no manners, no training, no interactions, and no real home. Kauai is learning to be the dog she always should have been. She is learning to play and love and relax. There will be no more babies for Kauai. Unlike many dogs, Kauai won't be bred until she can't produce anymore then ditched in the shelter. She was lucky to be dumped in the shelter when she is only 2 years old - she still gets a chance at a real life. Kauai is a beautiful girl that deserves the best things in life: love, home and a family

Cat Test Notes: 6/26/09 Kauai sniffed the cat out and stiffened. She Immediately started whining and lunging at the cat. She was able to be redirected and removed, but there was fixation behavior, lunging and staring with vocalizations. |
