 Update - 09/25/06
Eve says hello! We adopted her last year, just before Christmas (December 20, 2006). Heath and Sarah have loved her endlessly! We can't thank you enough for the dedication, love and effort you put in to saving this one of a kind breed. And especially, we thank you for blessing us with her. Eve is doing great and she's happy. And she would like to thank you by sending you a holiday donation. What would be the best method for her to do this? As well, we are attaching some current photos of our family. Thank you for all that you do!!
thank you. Eve , Sarah and Heath

Eve is mellow, well behaved, good in the house and very loving. So how did a wonderful girl like this end up in rescue? We ask ourselves that every day with every dog. However, we may have a hint in Eve's case:

Eve was named in part for the season and in part for her rescue on the "eve" of being put down.

Eve was found as a stray in pretty bad shape. She had head and leg trauma, was vomiting blood and had difficulty walking. The shelter held her for the required number of days, waiting for the owners to claim her. No one came.

The shelter then put Eve up for adoption, but who is going to take a 6 year old dog with unknown medical needs?

After her required hold time, Eve was scheduled for euthanasia. Boxers and Buddies stepped in and took Eve from certain death. After a series of x-rays, some medical care, rest, love and rehabilitation, Eve is now ready to find her forever home.
