Adoption Requirements: • You must be 21 years of age • All current pets in the household MUST be spayed/neutered and current on shots (yes, we do call and verify this information) • We do not place female boxers with other female dogs • Attendance at a professionally run obedience course is a requirement of adoption! • We do not adopt out dogs as gifts • All pets are family companions! |
In October, our organization got a call from a vet in Carson City. Diego had been brought in with an intestinal block. He had ingested 4 pacifiers and the owners did not want to pay for the surgery, instead telling the vet to have him euthanised. The vet wanted to know if we would help with the surgery and take him as a rescue so he wouldn't have to die. Of course we would, thats what we do! Diego had his surgery and put into his foster home. He had follow up visits with the vet to make sure everything was healing fine. Diego now has a clean bill of heath, but will not be placed in a home with children with pacifiers for obvious reasons. |

He loves kids and is very gentle and sweet. He can be nervous around men and there is a possibility that he has been hit in the past. He is great with other dogs and are good on and off-leash (needs a little work on coming with distractions). He doesn't seem to show aggression to large livestock, but should probably not be placed in a home with smaller livestock or cats. |
