Calla Lily came in with a respiratory infection. She was still nursing and mom was healthy. She was put on meds but the infection refused to clear. She was given special formula with extra vitamins, medicine and fluids. Calla Lily still floundered. On Wednesday, May 13th Calla Lily was taken to the vet. She was placed on IV fluids, oxygen, and meds.

Her entire litter fell ill and a viral scan was sent in on one of the pups. The scan came back positive for Distemper and the Canine Adnovirus. She was hospitalized for a over week.

Calla Lily was brought into a foster home on Friday, May 22nd. She's doing well in her foster home. She is totally crate trained and working on being housebroken.

Calla Lily loves playing with her foster brother. She is eating well and LOVES her toys.

Calla Lily is a distemper survivor. This means something. Distemper can have lifelong effects in its survirors. Before you even consider this puppy as possibly right for you or your home, you need to consult with a vertrinarian and discuss the possible health issues and challenges of owning a survivor puppy.

Calla Lily is a fighter. She survived a devistating disease that killed over half of her litter. She is lucky, she is special. and she deserves a home that will love her and understand her.

Calla Lily was born on March 11th, 2009. She was one of 6 puppies in her litter. The puppies were born to her mom, Fleur, in a shelter where the pups lived for 3 weeks before coming to Boxers and Buddies. Now safe and in a foster home, the pups have been handled every day. They will soon be exposed to other dogs, cats and new environments.

The cool thing about puppies is they are yours to mold – you can socialize them and make them everything you imagine. The bad thing about puppies is that if you don’t take the time to raise them right, you have no one to blame but yourself.

I'm interested in Calla Lily
