Adoption Requirements: • You must be 21 years of age • All current pets in the household MUST be spayed/neutered and current on shots (yes, we do call and verify this information) • We do not place female boxers with other female dogs • Attendance at a professionally run obedience course is a requirement of adoption! • We do not adopt out dogs as gifts • All pets are family companions! |
Have you seen the comedy “Grumpy Old Men”? Then you’ve probably seen Bubba Gump – he was playing the part of Walter Matthau. Seriously though, Bubba Gump may look the part of a grumpy old man, but he really isn’t that old OR that grumpy. He was abandon as a stray with two large tumors hanging off his leg. It’s obvious he was someone’s dog – either they couldn’t afford or didn’t want to take care of the tumors so they just let him loose.
Bubba is a talker – if you’re new to a boxer that means he argues with you, yells at you and talks to you in a way that only boxers can. He will bark to get your attention and if you give it to him he’ll just keep on barking. We’ve found that ignoring him or a quick squirt of water reminds him that talking back is not polite. Bubba is a sweet boy that really misses having a home to call his own. Boxers and Buddies has gotten the tumors removed and him back to where he should have been – now he just needs back into a home.
