Boxers and Buddies

Wailer

Wailer

Wailer is a beautiful brindle boy. He is a great, typical boxer dog. Sweet and loving, but very energetic and out-going, he was found as a stray and rescued by Boxers and Buddies. One of our fabulous foster homes made room for Wailer to save him from euthanization. It wasn’t smooth sailing, with a toddler, a young female boxer, an illness in the family, adding a new dog wasn’t on the agenda. The family stepped up just the same.

The toddler and Wailer became great friends, but health issues made it impossible for the family to keep Wailer. He is a wonderful dog and if the family wasn’t stretched so thin already they would have adopted him for sure.

We share his story for two reasons. First, it shows that dogs are work and need love and care and TRAINING to succeed – but if they get those things, they will succeed. You have to WORK to make adoptions work. The second reason is because many families will see how handsome Wailer is and want him as a family member. He is a wonderful dog – for the RIGHT home. Wailer needs an experienced Boxer owner to help keep him the wonderful dog that he is.

Oh, and his name? “Wailer” is a reference to Bob Marley – not to any sounds this beautiful boy makes, however, if you’re familiar with the breed, they do make a wide range of vocalizations. These days, Wailer is a sweet, mellow, well behaved and loving member of a family – but not his own family. Can you be the forever home Wailer is looking for?
