Winky
Posted April 21, 2011

Winky came to Boxers and Buddies through thanks to her people that treated her like a piece of rubbish to be cast off into the street: literally. When the landlord came to check on her rental, she noticed Winky, despite the no pet policy. When told that Winky wasn’t allowed per their lease, the owner said “Ok.” Grabbed Winky by the collar, pulled her out the front door, shut the door and locked it. Winky was now homeless.
The landlord tried to get the owner to reconsider and be responsible, but in the end, called Boxers and Buddies herself to try to save Winky from a high kill shelter.
Winky was terrified, without her family and her home, and didn’t know how to act at the boarding facility. She is calm and a little shy. She knows “sit” but would benefit from formal obedience classes. She is quiet and mellow for a boxer. Winky can get nervous around other dogs, but has not been aggressive. She is a loving little girl, eager to please and desperate to find a loving family and get back in a home once more.
