Summit

Summit is an oddity – and we’re not just talking about his beautiful but attention-getting eyes. We don’t know anything about Summit’s history. He was just THERE – in the shelter 0 a stray, skinny with an injury. They said he was hit by a car, but where was he before that? Summit can be a little shy, and the fact that he has had a rough history shows in both his physical and mental scars. He was unable to play with other dogs when he came to us. Now he is great with most female dogs, and he seems to do well with small dogs. He loves to play with his tennis balls. He is also a big fan of squeaky toys. I wouldn’t give him rope toys as he likes to shred them and if he ingests any of the rope material it could be dangerous – even deadly for him.
Summit loves people, but is still uncertain at times. He wants to be loved and petted, but you can see shadows of his past flicker in doubt over his face “Is this person going to hurt me too?”
Summit would do best in a home with a mellow but playful female dogs and older kids and teens. Make Summit yours and you will feel like you’re on top of the world!
